The Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed sincere appreciation to the people of Rivers State, Kano State, the Federal Capital Territory, and Nigerians across the country for their overwhelming support for the party in the recently concluded by-elections.
Speaking on behalf of the party, Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Mogaji (Hon.) Seye Oladejo, described the by-election outcomes across the affected constituencies as a powerful democratic endorsement of the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the progressive governance philosophy guiding the nation.
According to Oladejo, the impressive victories recorded by APC candidates reaffirm public confidence in the administration’s development agenda, particularly the “Renewed Hope” programme, which he said is driving economic reform, infrastructural growth, and institutional strengthening at both federal and sub-national levels.
He noted that the election results reflect the electorate’s recognition of what he described as bold leadership and the need for continuity in nation-building, stressing that sustainable development requires patience, resilience, and strategic policy implementation.
Oladejo further argued that the by-elections exposed the weakness of the opposition, which he accused of failing to present credible policy alternatives. Instead, he claimed, opposition voices have relied largely on rhetoric and sensationalism rather than actionable development proposals capable of winning broad public trust.
He also suggested that the election outcomes highlight the limits of social media-driven political mobilisation, noting that online visibility does not necessarily translate into electoral success. “Democratic legitimacy is ultimately determined at the polling units, not on digital platforms,” he said, adding that political outcomes require grassroots engagement and genuine public confidence.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Oladejo expressed optimism that the ruling party’s performance-driven governance approach would continue to resonate with voters nationwide. He described the by-election victories as a reflection of growing public trust in the administration and its policy direction.
The APC spokesman commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its role in conducting the elections and praised security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and orderly electoral environment that allowed citizens to exercise their civic rights safely.
He also saluted party members, campaign teams, and volunteers for their dedication, discipline, and effective grassroots mobilisation, which he said played a crucial role in securing the electoral successes.
Oladejo reaffirmed the party’s commitment to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting internal cohesion, and delivering tangible development benefits to Nigerians.
He emphasised that the by-election victories were not merely political wins but a renewed mandate to intensify service delivery to the people.
The Lagos APC also reiterated its unwavering support for President Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Agenda, calling on all Nigerians, including members of the opposition, to collaborate in the collective effort to build a more prosperous, secure, and united nation.
