Sporting Lagos technical adviser Jeffery Buter believes his side should have taken all three points from their goalless draw with Ikorodu City.
The two teams settled for a share of the points in the Lagos derby at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, on Wednesday.
Buter praised Ikorodu City’s physical approach but maintained that Sporting Lagos were the better side overall.
He also argued that his team would have secured victory under neutral circumstances.
“In the first phase they (Ikorodu City) were aggressive as they committed numbers forward, and they exploited it, seen how they played against Rangers in their last game,” Buter said after the game.
“Today we played long balls, unusual, as we tried to exploit the spaces but kudos to them, they were rugged.
“In the overall assessment we were still the better team and we should have won if the circumstances were neutral.”
