The operations, carried out separately in the two states, also led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, 14 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, four magazines, an Improvised Explosive Device, a magazine pouch and a bicycle.
In Borno State, troops of 29 Task Force Brigade, operating under Sector 2 of Operation Hadin Kai and supported by Forest Guards, received the surrender of a repentant terrorist at Borgozo in Kaga Local Government Area on Sunday.
The military said preliminary investigations showed that the suspect had escaped from a terrorist enclave and decided to abandon his involvement in terrorism.
He is currently in military custody undergoing further investigation and profiling, while the recovered weapons and other items remain in military possession.
Meanwhile, in Adamawa State, troops of Sector 4 Operation Hadin Kai, working alongside local hunters, have arrested six suspected members of a kidnapping syndicate operating around Soktu Hill in Song Local Government Area.
The operation followed intelligence on the activities of the group. Troops raided its identified hideout, initially arresting three suspects and recovering a Dane gun.
Further investigations and covert operations subsequently led to the arrest of three more suspects, bringing the total number of arrests to six.
The Army said preliminary investigations indicate that the syndicate operated across Soktu, Dumne and Maigero communities in Song Local Government Area.
The suspects are also alleged to have confessed to participating in several abductions for ransom and other violent crimes in the area.
They remain in military custody as investigations continue, with the Army expected to pursue appropriate legal action.
The latest operations underscore the military’s sustained campaign against terrorism, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North East.
Operation Hadin Kai says it will continue offensive operations aimed at disrupting criminal networks, denying terrorists freedom of action and creating a safer environment for residents and economic activities across the region.
