Nigerian rapper Blaqbonez has offered an account of the events that led to his prolonged feud with fellow rapper Odumodublvck, saying the dispute stemmed from their involvement with the same woman.
Blaqbonez disclosed this during a video interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, more than a year after Odumodublvck had insisted that their disagreement went beyond music.
According to Blaqbonez, he was intimate with the woman without knowing that she was also involved with Odumodublvck around the same period.
He said the situation escalated after the woman allegedly sent him a message that he found unusual. Blaqbonez said he tried to contact her to understand what had happened, but she did not answer his calls, prompting him to block her.
The rapper said he later discovered that she was involved with Odumodublvck and subsequently cut off communication with her.
How the dispute escalated
Blaqbonez said the situation became more serious when Odumodublvck allegedly contacted him and accused him of pursuing his partner.
He said he denied the accusation, explaining that his contact with the woman was an attempt to understand why she had sent him the earlier message.
According to Blaqbonez, the conversation was followed by another message from Odumodublvck asking when he last had sexual intercourse with the woman.
Blaqbonez said he declined to provide details because he did not want to interfere with whatever relationship existed between Odumodublvck and the woman.
He said Odumodublvck subsequently told him they would become enemies because of his refusal to answer the question.
“I didn’t know that the girl was with Odumodublvck,” Blaqbonez said, explaining that he had not knowingly pursued someone else’s relationship.
‘More than a rap beef’
The explanation comes after years of public exchanges between the two rappers.
In June 2025, Odumodublvck responded to a diss track from Blaqbonez by insisting that their conflict was not merely a battle between rappers.
The following year, in June 2026, Odumodublvck also made allegations of sexual abuse against Blaqbonez on X and accused sections of the music industry of shielding him.
Blaqbonez’s latest comments provide his account of the personal circumstances behind the feud.
‘Friends with benefits’
Blaqbonez also clarified how he viewed his relationship with the woman at the centre of the dispute.
He said they were never officially a couple, describing the relationship instead as a friendship that became intimate.
“I can’t say she’s my girlfriend because we didn’t make it official,” he said. “I called my relationship with her a friend with benefits because we were friends and we were intimate.”
The rapper maintained that once he discovered the woman’s connection to Odumodublvck, he avoided further contact with her.
