Barcelona Youngster Lamine Yamal Beats Messi, Pedri to Blaugrana Record

Lamine Yamal, a teen prodigy, has made Barcelona history by becoming the club’s youngest player to reach 50 appearances in all competitions.

In the penultimate game of the 2023/24 season against Rayo Vallecano, the teenager earned his 50th appearance in all competitions for Barcelona, scoring his 10th assist of the season.

After making his debut in the 2022/23 season, Yamal has made an additional 49 appearances this season to reach the magical number of 50 games played for Barcelona in all competitions.

At the age of 16 years 10 months and 6 days, Yamal became the youngest player to reach the milestone for Barcelona by more than a year, beating Bojan Krkic’s record of 18 years and three days.

Third on the list is Yamal’s current teammate Pedri Gonzales, who made 52 appearances in his first season with the club aged 18 years five months and three days.

Although he was a teenage prodigy as well, club legend Lionel Messi was only able to clock 50 appearances well after his 19th birthday, more than two years later than Yamal.
