Award-winning Nigerian comedian, actor and filmmaker Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has marked his 55th birthday with a message centred on gratitude, faith and personal growth.
Makun celebrated the milestone on Wednesday by releasing new photographs on his social media platforms.
Looking back on his journey, the entertainer described his 55th year as a reflection of the experiences that have shaped him, including moments of success, difficult periods and lessons learned along the way.
He said his journey has been sustained by resilience and faith, while acknowledging that he is still evolving as a person.
“A life of grace. A journey of resilience. A heart full of gratitude. I’ve seen the highs, survived the lows, learned the lessons, and through it all, God has been good,” Makun wrote.
The comedian added that he remains thankful for how far he has come, describing himself as blessed while recognising that his journey is still unfolding.
“55 years. Visibly blessed. Deeply grateful. Still standing. Still smiling. Still becoming. Happy birthday to me,” he added.
Makun has spent more than two decades in Nigeria’s entertainment industry, establishing himself across comedy, acting and filmmaking.
