The All Progressives Congress (APC) has unveiled its timetable and schedule of activities for primary elections ahead of forthcoming legislative contests in Delta, Kogi, Gombe, Bauchi and Kano states.
The party’s timetable covers 11 legislative seats, comprising four State House of Assembly constituencies recently restored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and seven constituencies where legislative bye-elections are scheduled to take place.
The four restored constituencies are Abraka, Isoko North II and Ughelli South II in Delta State, as well as Yagba West II in Kogi State.
The constituencies listed for the forthcoming legislative bye-elections include the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency in Gombe State; Disina and Sakwa State Constituencies in Bauchi; Udu State Constituency in Delta; and Dawakin Kudu State Constituency in Kano.
In a notice issued on Tuesday, the APC directed its chapters in the affected states to begin preparations for the primaries in line with the approved timetable.
The party said the schedule was designed to provide a clear framework for the nomination of its candidates for both the restored constituencies and the seats that will be contested through bye-elections.
The development comes after INEC restored four previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi states, paving the way for fresh electoral contests in the affected areas.
With the legislative elections expected to generate significant political activity across the five states, the APC urged aspirants, party members and other stakeholders to adhere strictly to the approved timetable and guidelines governing the primary elections.
The party’s latest move is expected to intensify preparations within its ranks as aspirants begin positioning themselves for the contests and the wider 2026 legislative electoral cycle.
