APC NEC appoints Ganduje National Chairman, Basiru as Secretary

Former Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, and former Senator Ajibola Basiru, spokesperson for the Ninth Senate, were officially ratified on Thursday to replace the All Progressives Congress’s immediate past National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu, and former National Secretary, Iyiola Omisore.

The decision was made about an hour after President Bola Tinubu arrived at the Transcorp Hilton, where the NEC meeting was being held, on Thursday.

into around 11.35 a.m., the President arrived into the hotel’s Congress Hall, flanked by stern-looking security agents presumed to be officers of the Department of State Services.

Following the announcement of their appointments, fans of Ganduje and Basiru burst into applause, nearly disrupting the event.

Among those who arrived early for the NEC meeting were Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello; former governor of Osun State and the party’s pioneer chairman, Bisi Akande; acting National Chairman of the party, Senator Abubakar Kyari; former Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje; and former Senator Ajibola Basiru, Spokesperson for the Ninth Senate.
