Akpabio Commissions Classrooms, ICT Centre, Health Facility, and Market in Akwa Ibom
Senate President inaugurates community projects, pledges stronger commitment to grassroots development.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commissioned a series of constituency projects in Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District, pledging continued investment in grassroots development.
The projects, unveiled on Monday in Etim Ekpo Local Government Area, include two blocks of 14 classrooms each, a fully equipped health centre, an ICT hub, and a modern market.
Akpabio, who was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Unoma Godswill Akpabio, said the facilities were designed to improve education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for residents.
Addressing the large crowd that gathered to welcome him, the Senate President assured his constituents of his dedication to improving their living standards through more community-focused initiatives.
“Your support for me, President Bola Tinubu, and our party is already yielding results. These projects are just the beginning—you will see more life-changing interventions,” Akpabio said.
The commissioning also featured a symbolic gesture from the people of Etim Ekpo. On behalf of community elders, Deputy Inspector General of Police (rtd) Udom Ekpoudom, who is also the Pro-Chancellor of the University of Calabar, presented Akpabio with a royal sword, signifying authority and appreciation for his efforts.
Akpabio reaffirmed that the projects were not only a response to his constituents’ needs but also a demonstration of his resolve to ensure that their votes in 2023 translate into tangible benefits.
