Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has formally received his Certificate of Return from the Independent National Electoral Commission, confirming his victory in the state’s governorship election.
The certificate was presented to Adeleke in Osogbo on Wednesday, four days after he secured re-election in the poll.
The governor’s Special Assistant on Digital Media, Olalekan Badmus, announced the development on his official X account.
The certificate formally recognises Adeleke as the winner of the election, which was held on Saturday.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 409,849 votes.
The governor won in 19 of the state’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji carried 11.
Adeleke’s re-election gives him another four-year mandate to lead Osun State, with attention now turning to the priorities and policies of his second term.
