Trudeau Says Canada Will Resist U.S. Steel Tariffs ‘Strongly and Firmly’

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday said that his country will resist any US tariffs on steel announced by President Donald Trump.
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared on Tuesday that Canada will strongly and firmly resist any U.S. steel tariffs announced by President Donald Trump.
Speaking at an artificial intelligence conference in Paris, Trudeau called the proposed tariffs unjustified, emphasizing that Canada would take a clear stance against them if necessary.
Trudeau further stated that Canada would work closely with the U.S. administration in the coming weeks to highlight the detrimental impact these tariffs would have on both American and Canadian economies.
This comes after Trump announced last month that the U.S. would impose a 25% tariff on steel and aluminum imports, escalating the ongoing trade conflict despite warnings from Europe and China.
Trump also hinted at the possibility of additional tariffs on automobiles, pharmaceuticals, and computer chips.
