Warri Wolves appeal NPFL sanctions over alleged attack on officials

Warri Wolves have challenged disciplinary measures imposed by the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) following an alleged assault on match officials.

The Seasiders were fined ₦4.2 million, deducted three points and three goals, and ordered to play their next three home fixtures behind closed doors.

The club said its appeal seeks leniency, citing efforts to apprehend the suspect linked to the alleged attack after last weekend’s home draw against Kano Pillars.

Warri Wolves acknowledged the gravity of the incident and said it respects the league’s disciplinary procedures, expressing hope that its appeal would receive favourable consideration.

The club also called on supporters to remain calm, united and steadfast.
