Okonkwo mourns Nollywood actor Francis Duru, celebrates his humility

African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain Kenneth Okonkwo has paid tribute to Nollywood actor Francis Duru, who died aged 57 following a brief illness.

In a post on his official X handle, Okonkwo described the late actor as an exceptional talent whose legacy would endure.

The former Nollywood actor expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his younger colleague, praising his outstanding abilities, dedication to his profession and uncommon humility.

Okonkwo noted that Duru’s remarkable talent never diminished the respect he showed others, describing him as a gifted performer who remained grounded despite his achievements.

“A painful loss, a talent that will never be forgotten. In an industry where talent is abundant but genuine humility is sometimes rare, you stood out in a special way.

“As a senior colleague, I watched and appreciated your talent with great admiration, and I always believed that you had so much more to offer this industry. Sleep well, young Ahanna. And may your memory be a blessing,” Okonkwo wrote.
