Chita Agwu Confirms End of 11-Year Marriage, Chooses Privacy

Nollywood actress Chita Agwu has announced the end of her 11-year marriage to Johnson Maduabuchi, revealing that their union has been legally dissolved by a court.
Agwu made the announcement in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, describing the development as the close of a deeply personal chapter in her life.
“After much thought and a journey that has been deeply personal, I wish to officially inform the public that my marriage has been legally dissolved by the court,” she said.
The actress said she was approaching the next phase of her life with peace, grace and dignity, noting that not every marriage ends as the couple had hoped.
She added that people should be allowed to move forward after the end of a relationship without facing public ridicule, judgment or humiliation.
Actress asks public to respect privacy
Agwu said she would not disclose private details about the circumstances surrounding the divorce or participate in public discussions about the matter.
“Out of respect for everyone involved, I will not be sharing private details or engaging in public discussions about the circumstances surrounding my divorce,” she stated.
She also appealed to the public to respect both her privacy and that of her former husband.
Thanking those who had supported her, the actress said she was prioritising healing and personal growth as she begins a new chapter.
“My marriage has ended, but my life continues. I move forward with my head held high, my dignity intact, and my heart open to the future,” she added.
The announcement formally marks the end of Agwu and Maduabuchi’s 11-year marriage, with the actress indicating that she intends to move forward without publicly discussing the circumstances of their separation.
