Damilola Adegbite: Younger Men Are No Longer Shy About Dating Older Women

Actress Damilola Adegbite says younger men are becoming more open about expressing romantic interest in older women.

The 41-year-old actress made the observation on her podcast, published on her YouTube channel, while discussing changing attitudes towards dating and age.

Adegbite said older women were previously made to feel that they should withdraw from the dating scene after reaching a certain age, while younger women were perceived to receive most of the attention.

She argued that the dynamic appears to be changing, with younger men now more willing to approach women in their late 30s and 40s.

“But now, the tables are turning,” she said.

Adegbite referenced Psalm 118:22, which speaks of the stone rejected by builders becoming the cornerstone, to describe what she sees as the changing perception of older women.

She jokingly described women who were once overlooked as having become the “premium package.”

The actress said younger men now confidently tell women aged 38, 40 or 42 that they are interested in them, adding that the confidence with which some men express such attraction can itself be appealing.

“A younger man will see a woman who is 38, 40 or 42 and say boldly, ‘I like you.’ And you are sitting there thinking, ‘Sorry, wait, are we doing this?’ And he is looking you dead in the eye like, ‘Yes, we are.’ And I think that confidence is attractive,” she said.
