Nollywood actress Moyo Lawal has responded sharply to an online critic who questioned why she remains active in the Nigerian film industry.
The critic reportedly accused Lawal of holding on to opportunities that should go to younger actresses and suggested that she should step away from the industry.
In response, the actress questioned whether her appearance and decision to leave a past relationship were behind the criticism.
Lawal also rejected suggestions linking her to promiscuity, while referring to the circumstances surrounding a previous relationship.
“You are pained because I look amazing? Because I left a man who’s feeble brain could not stand losing me and tried to destroy me at a time? Me and sleeping around has nothing in common,” she wrote.
The actress has faced intense public scrutiny over aspects of her private life, particularly after an intimate video involving her was leaked online in 2023.
Since then, Lawal has repeatedly addressed public commentary about her personal life and pushed back against attempts to shame her over matters she considers private.
Her latest response comes amid another wave of online discussion about her age, appearance, career and personal choices.
