Raneen Awad: From Beauty Model at 16 to Building Her Own Skincare Brand

Raneen Awad began building her career in the beauty industry at 16, an experience that would eventually lead her from social media and content creation into entrepreneurship.

What started with work as a face model in beauty salons gradually expanded into a broader career in the beauty and digital space. Today, Awad has built a following of more than 264,000 on Instagram and operates RENO, a skincare and beauty brand she founded.

Before launching RENO, Awad developed experience across different areas of the beauty industry. She also worked in piercing and eventually became an instructor, teaching specialised courses to other women.

At 17, she took another step into entrepreneurship with the launch of her first product, RENO Lips, a lip-plumping gloss.

According to Awad, the product attracted stronger demand than she initially anticipated. Customer interest in additional products subsequently encouraged her to expand beyond the single product and develop RENO into a wider skincare brand.

Over the following six years, she continued developing the business, with RENO expanding its product range and presence in the skincare market.

One of the brand’s products is RENO Skin Whitening Cream. The company says its products are manufactured by skincare facilities in Korea and that it now sells thousands of products annually.

For Awad, building customer confidence has remained an important part of developing the business.

“Customer trust and product quality are the foundation of a successful brand,” she said.

She also described her social media influence as only one part of her broader entrepreneurial journey.

Rather than relying solely on her online audience, Awad combined her experience in beauty, content creation and marketing with her interest in product development to establish a business beyond her personal brand.

RENO is now looking beyond its existing markets as Awad pursues international expansion.

The company has business activities in Israel, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, while Awad has also established a company in Dubai as part of plans to expand the brand’s presence in the UAE and Turkey.

Reflecting on the direction of the business, Awad said her long-term ambition is to take RENO beyond its current markets.

“My biggest ambition is to make RENO products recognized and available worldwide,” she said.

From her first experience in beauty at 16 to launching her own product at 17 and later developing RENO, Awad’s career has evolved across beauty, social media and entrepreneurship.

She is now positioning the brand for a wider international market, with customer trust and product development remaining central to the business strategy she says she has built over the years.
