TCN Unveils Anti-Corruption Policy, Strengthens Commitment to Accountability

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled its Anti-Corruption Policy Document as part of efforts to strengthen transparency, accountability, integrity and ethical conduct across the organisation.

The document was unveiled on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at the TCN Corporate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, by the company’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU).

Speaking at the event, TCN Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, described the policy as a significant step towards reinforcing the company’s commitment to ethical standards and zero tolerance for corrupt practices.

Abdulaziz said TCN’s credibility depended not only on its achievements but also on the manner in which those achievements were attained.

He urged members of staff to familiarise themselves with the policy document and reflect its provisions in their daily decisions and conduct.

The TCN chief executive commended the ACTU and other stakeholders who contributed to the development of the document, stressing that its objective went beyond preventing corruption to fostering a culture of honesty, fairness, accountability, transparency and professionalism.

He therefore called on staff to support the effective implementation of the policy and uphold its principles in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Earlier, the Chairman of ACTU, TCN, Mrs. E. Benibo, said the unveiling was more than the presentation of a policy document, describing it as a demonstration of the collective commitment of management and staff to strengthening integrity, transparency and accountability within the company.

Benibo noted that corruption weakens institutions, undermines public trust and wastes valuable resources, stressing that tackling the menace required the commitment of every member of staff.

Also speaking, the representative of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and ACTU Desk Officer attached to TCN, Mrs. Monsurat Ajoke Ifeajika, provided an overview of the policy.

She highlighted its role in influencing staff conduct, guiding institutional decisions and strengthening internal systems, explaining that the policies provide guidance on preventing, detecting, reporting and responding to unethical and corrupt practices.

The highlight of the event was the formal unveiling of the TCN Anti-Corruption Policy Document, which the company said would serve as a framework for promoting ethical conduct and accountability across its operations.
