Funke Akindele has placed her upcoming film, The Four: No One Fights Alone, in God’s hands as she intensifies promotion ahead of its December 11 cinema release.
Akindele, who wrote, directed and produced the film, shared her message of faith and gratitude as publicity for the project gathers momentum.
“We have worked hard, we have prayed, and we have committed THE FOUR into God’s hands,” she said in an Instagram post.
The filmmaker added that she was grateful for the progress made on the project and expressed confidence in its prospects.
“I believe with all my heart that this film is already a huge success,” she said.
Akindele ramps up promotion
The filmmaker has continued to promote The Four ahead of its nationwide cinema debut, including promotional activities in Ghana with some members of the cast.
The project stars Akindele alongside Waje, Bisola Aiyeola and Chioma Akpotha as the four central characters. The film explores friendship, motherhood, resilience, faith, love and loyalty.
The wider cast includes Richard Mofe-Damijo, Timini Egbuson, Lateef Adedimeji, Ali Nuhu and Uzor Arukwe, among others.
Akindele has also described the story as one centred on four women whose friendship is tested by life, with the film exploring themes of love, pain and struggle.
Kamo State premiere controversy
The promotion of The Four comes shortly after online discussions surrounding Akindele’s absence from the premiere of her protégé Kamo State’s debut cinema film, Star Lomo.
The actress’ absence generated speculation on social media about her relationship with Kamo State.
However, Kamo State later dismissed suggestions of a disagreement, explaining that Akindele was outside Nigeria at the time of the premiere and that the two remained on good terms.
Akindele was in Ghana around the time, where she was carrying out promotional activities for The Four.
December cinema showdown
The Four is scheduled to arrive in cinemas nationwide on December 11, 2026, with FilmOne Entertainment handling its theatrical distribution.
The December release period is one of the busiest windows on Nigeria’s cinema calendar, placing Akindele’s latest production among a number of highly anticipated festive-season titles.
Despite the attention surrounding the project and her recent activities, Akindele has maintained her focus on promoting the film.
She has urged fans and colleagues to continue sharing content about The Four and supporting the project ahead of its cinema debut.
