Kano Pillars technical adviser Daniel Ogunmodede has praised his side’s impressive 4-1 victory over Doma United in their NPFL Matchday Four clash at the Sani Abacha Stadium.
The result ended Doma United’s unbeaten start to the campaign, while Pillars maintained their own unbeaten run. Abdullahi Musa, Rabiu Ali, Ahmed Musa and substitute Nasiru Salihu were on target for the hosts, with Sadiq Rilwan scoring Doma United’s consolation goal.
Ogunmodede said the result reflected a closely fought contest, praising his players for executing their preparations.
“We expected a tough game because they have gone three matches unbeaten with nine points and never conceded but we prepared very well for them,” Ogunmodede told the club’s media.
“Not playing last weekend gave us an ample opportunity to prepare more for them and no doubt, you could see they gave us a tough time.”
The victory lifted the four-time champions to third position on the NPFL table.
