President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Maulud, urging them to reflect on and uphold the virtues and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President said the celebration should go beyond commemorating the birth of the Prophet to promoting values that can strengthen individuals, families and society.
Tinubu urged Muslims to draw lessons from the Prophet’s life, particularly his devotion, perseverance, tolerance, humility and selflessness, and to demonstrate these virtues in their daily lives.
He also called on Islamic scholars and religious leaders to use the occasion to encourage their followers to embrace peace, unity, compassion and responsible citizenship, while offering prayers for the continued progress and stability of Nigeria.
The President urged Muslims celebrating the occasion to extend kindness and support to the less privileged and vulnerable, stressing the importance of generosity and compassion during the festive period.
He further called for prayers for an end to insecurity and other challenges confronting communities across the country, while urging Nigerians to remain committed to building a peaceful, united and prosperous nation.
