Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that he would rather see his children pursue careers outside the entertainment industry.
Speaking during a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, the singer explained that he prefers his children to work within the business empire of his father, Deji Adeleke.
Davido said the decision is shaped by his own experience navigating the music industry, which he described as challenging before he achieved success. According to him, placing his children in the family’s established businesses would offer them a more stable path.
Reflecting on his upbringing, the singer recalled that his father initially opposed his decision to pursue music, a stance he said affected him deeply at the time. However, he noted that his persistence eventually earned his father’s support.
Despite his preference, Davido made it clear he would not stand in the way if any of his children choose a different route. He acknowledged that his daughter has already shown interest in music, displaying early signs of singing and dancing.
The award-winning artiste also highlighted his father’s strong bond with his grandchildren, describing it as a source of joy that influenced his outlook on family and legacy.
