Police Use Teargas to Disperse Protesters at National Assembly

Security forces deployed teargas on protesters outside the National Assembly after demonstrators attempted to force their way into the complex.

The protest escalated when demonstrators tried to scale the fence following the arrival of their leaders, including former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore and former minister Solomon Dalung.

Police moved swiftly to prevent a breach of the Assembly grounds, dispersing the crowd and restoring order.
