Nollywood actress Juliana Olayode has publicly addressed what she described as painful and misleading rumours circulating about her within the entertainment industry.
In a statement shared via her Instagram page, the actress criticised the spread of false information, noting that untrue claims can cause deep emotional harm. She questioned why anyone would deliberately misrepresent another person’s character or professional choices.
Olayode revealed that while she has largely ignored past rumours, a recent claim affected her deeply and prompted her to speak out. She stressed that criticism is acceptable, but fabrications are not.
The actress used the statement to clarify her professional position, stating that she is open to collaborating with any producer or director. According to her, no filmmaker is off-limits, provided the story and role align with her personal convictions.
She also reaffirmed her long-standing decision not to engage in kissing scenes in films, explaining that the choice is rooted in her religious commitment and consecration to God.
“It is true that I wouldn’t kiss in movies,” Olayode said, adding that her boundaries should not be misinterpreted as hostility or unprofessionalism.
The actress concluded by calling for honesty and empathy within the industry, urging colleagues and observers to recognise the lasting impact of words and false narratives.
