Ajax defender Jorrel Hato has signed a seven-year contract with Chelsea, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Hato completed his medical earlier today before putting pen to paper on a long-term deal with the Premier League club. Chelsea are now expected to release an official statement confirming his signing.
In a related development, RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons has also opted to join Chelsea this summer.
The 22-year-old Dutch international, who is currently injury-free, is eager to make the move to West London. Simons was left out of Leipzig’s squad for their friendly against Atalanta on Saturday—a decision believed to signal his strong intent to finalize a transfer to Stamford Bridge.
