Gyökeres Shatters Arsenal Shirt Sales Record After No.14 Reveal

Arsenal’s newly signed striker, Viktor Gyökeres, has set a new benchmark in shirt sales for the club, according to The Athletic.
The Swedish forward was officially presented as a Gunners player just last Saturday, yet early data from retailers already indicates that demand for his No.14 jersey has exceeded that of any previous Arsenal player in recent memory.
Although final sales figures are still being finalized, initial reports confirm that Gyökeres has outpaced fan favorites such as Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, and Martin Ødegaard in shirt sales since his unveiling.
The 27-year-old joins Arsenal for an initial transfer fee of €63.5 million and has since integrated with the squad during their pre-season tour across Asia.
He was formally introduced to supporters at the Singapore National Stadium ahead of the club’s friendly clash with Newcastle United, where he received an electrifying reception from the crowd.
Gyökeres’ shirt number has only fueled the excitement surrounding his arrival. Though his preferred No.9 is currently worn by Gabriel Jesus, the striker opted for the legendary No.14 — a number forever associated with Arsenal icon and all-time leading scorer Thierry Henry.
