Liverpool Lead Summer Spending with £295.5M Transfer Outlay

Premier League champions Liverpool have emerged as the biggest spenders in the current summer transfer window, with their outlay now nearing the £300 million mark.
According to Sky Sports, the Reds’ recent acquisition of French striker Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt for £79 million has pushed their total summer spending to £295.5 million.
This figure places Liverpool more than £75 million ahead of second-placed Chelsea, who have spent £218 million so far. Arne Slot’s side have outspent both Manchester City (£128.8 million) and Arsenal (£123 million) combined.
Tottenham Hotspur follow as the fifth-highest spenders, having invested £110.7 million. Surprisingly, newly promoted Sunderland are close behind, with a total spend of £107 million.
