Alonso Hails Huijsen, Alexander-Arnold After Real Madrid Debuts

Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has praised Dean Huijsen and Trent Alexander-Arnold following their debuts in the team’s 1-1 draw against Al Hilal at the FIFA Club World Cup on Wednesday.

Alonso highlighted the significance of both players to the future of the club, stating they will be “very important for us” moving forward.

The Spanish coach took a moment to congratulate the duo on making their first appearances for Los Blancos, marking a memorable milestone in their careers.

It’s worth noting that Alexander-Arnold and Huijsen arrived at Real Madrid this summer, from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively.

In his post-match comments, Alonso said:

“I want to congratulate Dean and Trent for their debut, this is a special day for them, and they’ll be very important for us.”

He also addressed the substitution of Raul Asencio, explaining it was due to the challenging weather conditions:

“Raul Asencio really struggled with the heat, that is why he was subbed off.”

Real Madrid’s next match in the Club World Cup is scheduled for Sunday, when they face Pachuca.
