Man United Open Talks for Frankfurt’s Ekitike

Manchester United have initiated preliminary discussions with the representatives of Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, according to a report by ESPN.

Newly appointed manager Ruben Amorim is keen to bolster his attacking options ahead of his first full season in charge at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils have already suffered setbacks in the transfer market, missing out on Liam Delap, who opted to join Chelsea from Ipswich Town. In addition, top target Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP is reportedly leaning toward a move to Arsenal.

Ekitike, 22, is attracting attention from several Premier League giants, including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea, following an impressive Bundesliga campaign in which he netted 15 goals for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Despite the growing interest in the French forward, Manchester United remain firmly in the hunt and are also pursuing Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo as part of their efforts to enhance their attacking depth.

Amorim is under pressure to address United’s goal-scoring woes. Last season, the team managed only 44 goals in the league—a tally better only than Everton and the three relegated sides: Southampton, Leicester, and Ipswich.
