The All Progressives Congress (APC) has reaffirmed its appreciation for Nigerian workers and the role of labour and trade union leaders in promoting constructive dialogue with government towards resolving national and workers’ issues.
In a statement marking the 2025 International Workers’ Day, APC’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described workers as vital partners in the formulation and delivery of the administration’s people-centered policies and programmes.
“On this occasion of the 2025 International Workers’ Day celebration, the All Progressives Congress salutes Nigerian workers for their immeasurable contributions to the country’s economic growth, stability, and development,” Morka said.
He described workers as the frontline drivers of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reform agenda, noting their role in the implementation of innovation, public service delivery, and social progress.
“We value the role of labour and trade union leaders in constructive dialogue with our listening administration in managing disputes in the best interest of workers and the nation,” he added.
Morka said the Renewed Hope Agenda, the hallmark of the Tinubu-led government, is focused on transforming the foundations of Nigeria’s economic life and promoting social and economic inclusion.
According to the APC, this transformation is evident in several initiatives, including:
Improved minimum wage frameworks
Introduction of student loans
NHIS healthcare subsidies
Efforts to stabilize food prices
Nationwide infrastructural investments
He noted that these interventions are designed to improve the material conditions of life for all Nigerians and ensure that the fruits of economic reforms are felt broadly and equitably.
The APC concluded by commending the industry, patriotism, and resilience of Nigerian workers, acknowledging them as an indispensable force in the country’s continued development.
