£50m for Osimhen Is ‘Peanuts’ — Rio Ferdinand Criticizes Reported Galatasaray Bid

Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has described a reported £50 million bid for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen as “peanuts” in the current football transfer market.
Ferdinand made the remarks during an appearance on TalkSPORT, where he reiterated his longstanding belief that Manchester United urgently need to sign a proven goalscorer.
The ex-England international, who has consistently advocated for United to pursue Osimhen, expressed disbelief over reports that the Napoli striker is close to finalizing a permanent move to Turkish club Galatasaray after agreeing personal terms.
“I’m like a broken record. If anyone listens to my podcast, I’ve said Osimhen for a while now,” Ferdinand said.
“I’ve seen today that Galatasaray have put a £50 million bid in.
“I mean, £50 million to get a top-class striker—one of the top strikers in the world—is absolute peanuts in today’s market.”
Osimhen, who has established himself as one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards, has long been linked with a move to the Premier League. However, if reports are accurate, he could instead be heading to the Turkish Super Lig this summer.
