2027: Delta Arewa Community Backs Tinubu, Oborevwori for Re-election

At a rally in Asaba, the Arewa community lauds leadership, pledges loyalty to APC and calls for northern patience until 2031

The Arewa Community in Delta State has publicly declared its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for re-election in 2027, highlighting their developmental strides and inclusive leadership.

The endorsement was made during a rally held Thursday in Asaba, where the group also formally announced their membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). They called on all northerners nationwide to support President Tinubu’s administration and commit to national unity and political stability.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Alhaji Auwalu Tukur — the group’s leader and Chairman of the Delta State Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board — praised the president’s efforts in stabilizing Nigeria’s economy and fostering national cohesion.

“We want to pledge our absolute support and loyalty to the government of His Excellency Alhaji Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” said Tukur. “His leadership deserves continuity to consolidate the achievements made so far.”

The community also lauded Governor Oborevwori’s administration for transforming Delta State into what they described as a “construction site,” with accelerated infrastructure development and appointments of Arewa members into strategic political positions.

“Many of our members have been appointed as Special Assistants, Senior Special Assistants, and Board Chairmen… we truly appreciate you because we have never had it this good,” the community said.

They described Delta as the “fastest-growing state in the entire West African sub-region” under Oborevwori’s leadership and reaffirmed their total allegiance:

“Where Sheriff goes, we go. We stand with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.”

The group urged northern Nigerians to remain united and patient until 2031 before seeking another opportunity at the presidency, suggesting that supporting Tinubu through two terms would uphold the principles of equity, national cohesion, and political balance.
