Zelensky Condemns Russia After Drone Strike Kills Infant and Family in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has denounced Russia’s recent drone attacks that resulted in the deaths of five civilians, including a one-year-old child, in the city of Pryluky.

The victims, spanning three generations of a single family, were killed when a Russian drone struck their home, which belonged to a local emergency responder. Six others were injured in the attack.

In a statement, Zelensky accused Moscow of attempting to “buy time for itself to continue killing” and urged the international community to impose maximum sanctions and pressure on Russia.

He emphasized the need for the United States, Europe, and other global actors to take decisive action to change these dire circumstances.

The attacks occurred shortly after a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and former U.S. President Donald Trump, during which Putin vowed retaliation for Ukraine’s recent drone strikes on Russian military airfields.

In addition to the Pryluky incident, a separate drone attack on the northeastern city of Kharkiv injured at least 19 people, including children and a pregnant woman.

These events mark a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict, with Ukrainian officials continuing diplomatic efforts in Washington to secure further support amid the persistent hostilities.

The international community has widely condemned the attacks, with calls for increased support for Ukraine and stronger measures against Russia.

The situation remains tense as both sides engage in ongoing military operations and diplomatic negotiations.
