Zamalek Fans Call for Peseiro’s Dismissal After CAF Confederation Cup Exit

Zamalek supporters have called for the immediate dismissal of head coach Jose Peseiro following the club’s shock elimination from the CAF Confederation Cup.
The defending champions were knocked out by South African side Stellenbosch on Wednesday, ending their title defense at the quarter-final stage. After holding the hosts to a goalless draw in Cape Town last week, Zamalek carried a slight advantage into the second leg in Cairo.
However, that edge was undone when Sihle Nduli netted a late winner 11 minutes from time, sending Stellenbosch through and sparking outrage among the White Knights’ fanbase.
Peseiro, 65, took charge of the club in February but is now under mounting pressure. Since his appointment, Zamalek have played 13 matches in all competitions, recording five wins, six draws, and two losses.
The disappointing exit from continental competition has fueled frustration among fans, many of whom are now demanding a swift managerial change.
