Workers’ Day 2025: “Your Unwavering Commitment Will Be Handsomely Rewarded” – Head of Civil Service Applauds Nigerian Civil Servants

As Nigeria joins the global community to mark the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack, has paid glowing tribute to Nigerian civil servants, describing their service as the backbone of national progress.

In a personal message issued on Thursday, Walson-Jack expressed deep appreciation for the unwavering dedication, resilience, and patriotism of workers across the country, especially within the federal civil service. She assured them that their sacrifices would not go unnoticed.

“On this Workers’ Day, I extend heartfelt gratitude to all Nigerian workers—particularly our committed civil servants—whose hard work, resilience, and patriotism have helped sustain and advance our nation,” she stated.

She emphasized that the occasion serves as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through unity, innovation, and a steadfast commitment to excellence. “Your commitment remains the bedrock of our national development. I salute your invaluable service and encourage you to uphold the highest standards of efficiency, integrity, and productivity.”

Walson-Jack further reaffirmed the government’s pledge to reward diligence and uphold the welfare of workers in line with public service reforms.

Unlike some public statements which remain largely ceremonial, her message strikes a balance between appreciation and a forward-looking call to action—reflecting a broader push for a more motivated and high-performing civil service in a challenging economic climate.

“May your efforts be richly rewarded, and may our nation flourish through your unwavering dedication. Happy Workers’ Day!” she concluded.
