Workers’ Day 2025: IGP Reaffirms Commitment to Officers’ Welfare, Salutes National Workforce

As Nigeria commemorated the 2025 International Workers’ Day, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, expressed the Nigeria Police Force’s renewed commitment to the welfare and professional development of its officers, describing them as pillars of national stability and security.

In a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the IGP paid tribute to the dedication and sacrifices of police officers and workers across all sectors who contribute to the peace, unity, and sustainable growth of the country.

“Today, we celebrate the resilience of Nigerian workers and, in particular, the unwavering commitment of our officers who stand on the frontlines to protect lives and property. Their service is the bedrock of our nation’s stability,” Egbetokun stated.

The Police Chief emphasized that the Force remains resolute in fostering a supportive, inclusive work environment where officers are respected, empowered, and motivated to perform their duties with integrity and pride.

“The Nigeria Police Force is deeply committed to enhancing the welfare of its personnel through progressive initiatives aimed at improving their standard of living, working conditions, and career advancement,” the statement added.

Reaffirming the Force’s pledge to institutional well-being, professionalism, and morale, the IGP concluded with a goodwill message:
“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to all Nigerian workers and wish them a peaceful and fulfilling Workers’ Day.”
