VeryDarkMan Rejects Soso Soberekon’s ₦120M Boxing Offer, Demands $1M to Fight Portable
Social media activist blasts music executive for “disrespectful” offer, reveals he turned down $100K to fight 50 Cent.

Controversial social media activist, VeryDarkMan, has turned down a proposed ₦120 million boxing match with singer Portable, calling the offer “disrespectful.”
The proposal was made by music executive Soso Soberekon, who suggested organizing a celebrity boxing match between the two online rivals amid their ongoing war of words.
In a fiery Instagram video posted Sunday evening, VeryDarkMan lambasted Soso for the offer, claiming it undervalues his worth. He recounted previously rejecting a $100,000 offer to fight American rapper 50 Cent, insisting he demanded $1 million instead.
“Make I quickly respond to Soso Soberekon for this disrespect,” he began. “Last year, I was supposed to have the biggest event in Africa—a fight between me and 50 Cent. They wanted to pay me $100,000 while offering 50 Cent $5 million. I said no. If he’s getting $5 million, I should get at least $1 million.”
He claimed the proposed bout was serious enough to involve boxing federation officials and influencer Tunde Ednut, but the deal fell through due to disagreement over his fee.
Addressing the new challenge, VeryDarkMan dismissed the ₦120 million (~$100,000) offer as “too low,” citing his recent charitable contributions as more valuable.
“N100 million can’t even buy a good house in Abuja,” he said. “If you want me to fight, bring $500,000 upfront before we even sit to talk balance. Otherwise, don’t put my name on your page again.”
He concluded by warning Soso Soberekon to respect boundaries, saying: “If dem dey respect you, respect yourself.”
As of press time, Soso has not publicly responded to VeryDarkMan’s demands. The proposed bout, which had already stirred social media buzz, now appears unlikely to happen—at least not on the terms initially offered.
