Umahi Urges South East Governors, Including Abia’s Otti, to Back President Tinubu

During a Thursday visit to Abia State Governor Alex Otti’s office, Minister of Works Dave Umahi made a heartfelt appeal to the governors of the South East—regardless of party affiliation—to unite in support of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.

The minister’s visit followed an inspection tour of ongoing federal road projects in Abia State, set to be inaugurated by the President later this year.

Umahi praised the enduring friendship between Tinubu and Otti, emphasizing the importance of collective regional backing for the President’s developmental agenda.

Highlighting Otti’s infrastructural achievements, Umahi lauded the governor for delivering quality federal road projects, singling out the remarkable rehabilitation of the Port Harcourt Road as a testament to Otti’s dedication and vision.

He also acknowledged Otti’s support for the federal initiative to reconstruct the Port Harcourt-Enugu Expressway, noting that cooperation from the state government has been crucial in facilitating smooth operations.

Appealing for further collaboration, Umahi urged Governor Otti to consider accelerating work on the Aba-Port Harcourt Expressway, even suggesting the possibility of engaging the same contractors to ensure continuity and quality.

In response, Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to partnering with the Federal Government on projects that enhance the welfare of Abia’s people.
