Tunisia’s Houij Admits Super Falcons Pose Major WAFCON Challenge

Tunisian striker Mariem Houij has acknowledged that facing Nigeria’s Super Falcons will be a major challenge for her team.
Tunisia will take on Justine Madugu’s side in their opening match of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Casablanca on Sunday.
The Super Falcons, the most successful team in African women’s football history, boast an impressive record with nine WAFCON titles.
Nigeria’s squad features several top-tier players, including six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year Asisat Oshoala, as well as Rasheedat Ajibade, Ashleigh Plumptre, and Francisca Ordega.
Houij, 30, praised the strength and reputation of the Super Falcons ahead of the crucial clash.
“Nigeria is the most decorated team in the WAFCON. In the last edition, they were eliminated in the semi-finals by the host nation, Morocco,” Houij said in an interview with CAFonline.
