Trump Demands Probe into Harris Over Alleged Paid Celebrity Endorsements

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced plans to launch what he calls a “major investigation” into Vice President Kamala Harris, alleging that her 2024 campaign used improper financial incentives to secure celebrity endorsements.

In a post shared Monday on his Truth Social platform, Trump claimed Harris’s team paid entertainment figures under the guise of event hosting. “Candidates aren’t allowed to pay for ENDORSEMENTS, which is what Kamala did under the guise of paying for entertainment,” Trump wrote. “I am going to call for a major investigation into this matter.”

Harris’s campaign, which ended after a disappointing showing at the Democratic primaries, leaned heavily on endorsements from high-profile figures, including Oprah Winfrey, Beyoncé, and Bruce Springsteen.

Trump zeroed in on Winfrey’s $1 million payment, reportedly made to her production company, which Harris’s team said was to cover production costs for a campaign event she hosted.

The campaign has denied rumors of a $10 million payment to Beyoncé, calling them “completely false.” Financial disclosures from the Harris campaign list only a $75 endorsement-related payment, reportedly made to an environmental advocacy group.

Trump, who won the 2024 election comfortably, received limited backing from mainstream entertainers but enjoyed support from a niche group of influential conservative media figures and internet personalities, including podcast host Joe Rogan.

The former president also took shots at Bruce Springsteen, who performed at a Harris campaign rally in Georgia weeks before the election. “How much did Kamala Harris pay Bruce Springsteen for his poor performance?” Trump posted. “Why did he accept that money if he’s such a fan?”

Last week, Trump reignited his feud with Springsteen after the musician criticized the current administration during a concert in the UK, calling it “corrupt, incompetent, and treasonous.” Trump responded by calling the rock legend “highly overrated.”

Springsteen, long known for his progressive politics, had backed the Democratic ticket after Harris replaced President Joe Biden, who dropped out amid declining approval ratings.

While Trump’s allegations have yet to be substantiated with formal evidence, his remarks have added fuel to the already contentious political atmosphere in the lead-up to the 2028 campaign season. Harris’s team has not yet responded to Trump’s latest claims.
