Tottenham Move to Hijack Chelsea’s Pursuit of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly attempting to hijack Chelsea’s pursuit of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig, as the race for the talented midfielder intensifies. According to BILD, the 22-year-old Dutch international has flown into London to hold transfer talks regarding his future.

Simons, valued at around £60 million, had initially been on Chelsea’s radar earlier in the summer transfer window. However, developments now suggest that the Blues could lose out on the midfielder to their London rivals. Club sources revealed that Simons has been “released until further notice for future discussions”, allowing him to explore potential offers.

While Tottenham have not yet submitted a formal bid, they have reportedly held introductory talks with RB Leipzig regarding a possible deal. Spurs boss Thomas Frank is said to be keen on strengthening his attacking options, particularly after long-term injuries to key playmakers James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski left the squad short of creativity in midfield.
