Tinubu Hails Kresta Laurel at 35, Recalls Company’s Role in His 1999 Transition

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Kresta Laurel Limited, Nigeria’s foremost indigenous elevator and escalator company, on its 35th anniversary, commending the firm for its resilience and contribution to the country’s economy.

Founded in 1989, Kresta Laurel has grown into a market leader in elevators, escalators, and cranes, with headquarters in Lagos and branches in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Uyo, as well as a zonal office in Ibadan. The company is also a recipient of the prestigious African Order of Merit in Cranes, Escalators, and Elevator Technology.

In a congratulatory message signed by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu lauded the company for its enterprise, discipline, and effective management, which he said have sustained it for over three decades in a challenging business environment.

He also fondly recalled the pivotal role played by Kresta Laurel in 1999 when the company provided space support to his transition team as he prepared to assume office as Governor of Lagos State. Tinubu noted that the gesture was instrumental in enabling him to assemble the technocratic cabinet that later redefined governance in Lagos.

“The company’s longevity is a testament to its resilience, sound business practices, and unwavering belief in the Nigerian market,” the President said, while assuring that his administration would continue to encourage businesses that drive local innovation and capacity.

President Tinubu also extended special congratulations to Senator Gbenga Daniel, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kresta Laurel Limited, urging the company to build on its legacy and achieve greater milestones in the years ahead.
