Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, alongside key elders and leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state—under the aegis of the APC Leaders’ Caucus—has formally endorsed President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
The endorsement came during a strategic meeting held at the Government House in Akure on Friday, where the group also launched a new political platform, ‘Ondo State for Tinubu 2027’, aimed at mobilizing support for the President’s re-election bid.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa called for unity among party members and emphasized the importance of consolidating party structures to ensure sustained strength ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“Our strength lies in our unity,” the governor said. “As leaders of the APC in Ondo State, we must build on the strong foundation already laid. Support groups are welcome, but they must all operate under the central leadership of the party—the State Working Committee and the State Caucus.”
He also made it clear that, with no imminent governorship election in Ondo, the party’s collective focus should shift toward grassroots mobilization for Tinubu’s re-election.
“We must now direct our full attention to the 2027 presidential election. Our task is to deliver overwhelming support for President Tinubu at the polls,” Aiyedatiwa stated.
Also speaking, Hon. Derin Adesida, who represents Akure North/Akure South Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, said the meeting was in line with APC’s internal framework for leadership engagement and strategic planning.
“This kind of gathering is embedded in the party’s constitution. It allows us as leaders to consult, coordinate, and chart a clear direction for the APC in the state and beyond,” Adesida said.
The event signals a renewed push by the Ondo APC to consolidate support for the President and unify various interest groups under one coordinated campaign structure ahead of 2027.
