
President Bola Tinubu has extended heartfelt condolences to President John Mahama, as well as the government and people of Ghana, following a tragic military helicopter crash that claimed the lives of two ministers and four others.
Ghana’s Defence Minister, Edward Omane Boamah, and Environment Minister, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, were among the six victims who perished in the crash on Wednesday.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu expressed deep sorrow over the loss and offered the sympathies of the Nigerian government and people during what he described as a moment of profound national grief.
He urged the Ghanaian people and the bereaved families to take solace in the fact that the victims died in service to their nation. The President also prayed for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and for strength and comfort for those they left behind.
