Tinubu appoints key nominees for NCDMB governing council

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of four new members to the Governing Council of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

In a statement issued on Thursday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the nominations are aimed at filling existing vacancies and strengthening the board’s capabilities.

The newly approved members are Olusegun Omosehin from the National Insurance Commission, Wole Ogunsanya from the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, Sam Onyechi from the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum, and Barrister Owei Oyanbo from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

President Tinubu urged the new members to utilize their expertise and commitment to drive the development of local content within Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.

The statement explained that these nominations were made following the departure of previous institutional representatives from the Governing Council.

It also highlighted that the NCDMB Governing Council, established under Section 69 of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act of 2010, consists of representatives from key institutions, including the Ministry of Petroleum Resources, the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, the Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria, the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria, the Nigerian Content Consultative Forum, and the National Insurance Commission.
