TikToker Peller Shrugs Off TikTok Live Ban, Says His Income Remains Secure

Popular Nigerian TikToker Peller has dismissed concerns that TikTok’s temporary restriction on live streams in Nigeria will affect his finances, insisting that he has multiple income streams beyond the platform.

TikTok recently limited access to its LIVE feature during late-night hours for Nigerian users, notifying creators that the change was part of an ongoing safety investigation. The move sparked conversations online about how the restriction could impact top streamers.

In a video posted on his TikTok page, Peller said he was surprised that some critics expected him to struggle financially because of the temporary ban. He noted that he holds several brand ambassadorships and endorsements, each valued at no less than ₦40 million, which secure his earnings regardless of TikTok’s policies.

“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry,” he said. “I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million.”

Peller added that his digital footprint extends across multiple platforms and long-term partnerships, which he says ensure his financial stability.

‘TikTok Helps Young People Grow Faster’

Beyond defending his personal income, Peller highlighted TikTok’s role in empowering young Nigerians. He said the platform has helped many creators build a following and earn an income far more quickly than on other social networks.

“Many people will grow up on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on,” he said.

He argued that limiting nighttime livestreams could disrupt creator engagement and reduce earnings, especially for new talents who are still building an audience.

Giving Back to Followers

The influencer also noted that he frequently redistributes gifts received during live streams through giveaways to fans. He urged platform managers and authorities to consider the economic ripple effects of restricting TikTok Live, calling the app one of the most accessible platforms for young people seeking digital opportunities.

As the investigation continues, Nigerian creators await further updates on when full live-streaming access will be restored.
