Arsenal icon Thierry Henry has cast doubt on Liverpool’s chances of retaining the Premier League title next season, expressing confidence that his former club will finally claim the crown.
Liverpool, under new manager Arne Slot, secured their 20th league title last season, drawing level with Manchester United’s all-time record. The Reds have since strengthened their squad with the arrivals of Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, and Milos Kerkez, leading many fans and analysts to back them for another title run.
However, in a recent interview with Men in Blazers, Henry backed Arsenal to go one step further this time and lift the Premier League trophy under Mikel Arteta’s leadership.
“Do I think that Mikel Arteta is doing a great job? Tremendous job,” Henry stated. “Do I think he should get the sack? Hell no.
“Am I going to think we’re going to win the league this year? Yes. It’s been good, it’s got to be better.”
