Tems Says She Has Surpassed Her Dreams, Reflects on Journey From 9–5 to Global Stardom

Grammy-winning singer Tems has reflected on her journey to global success, saying she has achieved far more than she ever imagined at the start of her career.
The singer made the remark during an interactive session with fans on X, where she answered questions about her music, ambitions and life after stardom.
Responding to a fan who asked what she was currently looking forward to, and whether she had fulfilled her dreams, Tems said she was grateful for how far she has come.
“I’m looking forward to whatever the Lord has in store, and honestly, I’ve achieved beyond my dreams from when I had a 9–5,” she wrote.
Tems’ rise began in 2018 after she quit her job as a digital marketer to pursue music full-time. Her breakout moment came with her feature on Wizkid’s global hit Essence, which reached number 9 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a defining Afrobeats milestone.
Since then, she has carved her place in music history, becoming the first female Afrobeats artist to win a Grammy Award and later securing the inaugural Best African Music Performance award at the 65th Grammy Awards.
Tems’ reflections signal her continued gratitude and anticipation as she steps into a new chapter of her already groundbreaking career.
