Tacha Condemns False Rape Claims, Says Fabrication Harms Real Survivors

Former Big Brother Naija housemate Natasha Akide, widely known as Tacha, has spoken out against false rape allegations, describing them as damaging to genuine survivors.

In a video posted on her Instagram page, Tacha addressed the controversy surrounding Mirabel, a TikTok user who admitted to fabricating a rape accusation.

“Rape is a very serious issue. Women should never weaponise rape for any reason, because at the end of the day, you are taking away from the real victims,” she said.

Tacha argued that false claims give ammunition to rape apologists and create additional barriers for survivors seeking justice. According to her, such actions make it more difficult for future complainants to be taken seriously.

She added that individuals who deliberately make false accusations should face consequences, noting that accountability is necessary to underscore the gravity of rape allegations.

While acknowledging that mental health challenges may play a role in some cases, Tacha maintained that this does not excuse fabrication.

At the same time, she reaffirmed that sexual assault remains a significant issue and that real victims deserve unwavering support.

“I am not going to back down from the fact that women still do get raped. I am not going back down from the fact that there are real victims out there,” she said.

Tacha also highlighted the emotional impact false accusations can have, stating that such situations can deeply affect the mental health of those involved.

Her remarks come amid ongoing public debate over the Mirabel case, as authorities continue to handle related investigations.
