Szczesny Confirms Barcelona Contract Offer, Final Decision Pending Family Talks

Barcelona goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed that he has received a two-year contract extension offer from the club. While the offer signals Barcelona’s desire to retain him at Camp Nou beyond his current agreement, Szczesny stated that a final decision is yet to be made.

“I have received a two-year contract extension offer from the club,” Szczesny said, confirming Barcelona’s interest in extending his stay. However, the Polish international made it clear that his future remains uncertain. “But I need to decide with my family what’s best for us,” he added.

Szczesny had previously announced his retirement from professional football following the conclusion of his contract at Juventus. However, he reversed that decision when Barcelona urgently needed a replacement goalkeeper and stepped in as an emergency signing.

In related news, Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has finalized all terms of his new contract with the club. The agreement, which runs through June 2027, has been drafted and approved, with a formal signing expected to take place this month.

“It’s all done and set to be sealed this month with formal signature, but already approved with contract drafts. Official soon. One more year for Flick at Barça,” transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday via X.
